Six things hotel pools require
What separates hotel pool work from residential.
Hotels can't afford project overruns, they cost revenue per day the pool is closed. Here's what we bring to hotel projects that residential plasterers can't.
Off-season scheduling windows
Most San Diego and SoCal hotels have a narrow Nov–Feb window to close pools without losing peak-season revenue. We schedule projects to fit those windows precisely, quoted to start and finish inside the agreed range.
Guest-facing project management
Pool deck signage, alternative amenity coordination, GM-level communication, and noise mitigation during occupied operations. We manage the project like the guest experience matters, because for your hotel, it does.
ADA-compliant resurfacing
Commercial hotel pools must comply with ADA accessibility standards. Slip-resistant finishes, transfer-wall coping, approved drain covers, and pool-lift coordination are baked into our scope by default.
Multi-pool / multi-property contracts
Full-service hotels often run a main pool, lap pool, kids pool, and spa. Resorts add cabana plunge pools and water features. We quote them all together and execute in parallel where possible to compress the closure window.
Bond + insurance documentation
Hotel risk-management teams require COIs and bond docs as part of the contract package. We've assembled this hundreds of times, typically delivered within 24 hours of contract.
Pre-opening pressure testing
Before reopening, the pool gets full water-chemistry recertification, equipment recommissioning, and a clean handoff with documentation for your health department inspection.
Finish recommendations by hotel tier
Which finish fits your property?
For commercial hotel pools, the right finish depends on tier, guest volume, and replacement-cycle economics. Here's our honest take.
PebbleTec for resort pools
For luxury resorts and full-service hotels, we recommend PebbleTec or PebbleSheen. 18-25 year lifespan means you replaster every 20 years, not every 8. The cost-per-year math wins overwhelmingly for high-traffic commercial pools.
Quartz aggregate for boutique hotels
Mid-scale boutique hotels often choose quartz aggregate, better than standard plaster, friendlier price point. 12-18 year lifespan. Still ADA-compliant. Strong color options.
Standard plaster for budget hotels
Limited-service hotels with low pool usage can go standard white plaster. 10-15 year lifespan. Lowest upfront cost. We'll be honest about the trade-off if it's the right call for your property.
