Why San Diego picks Sol Pacific
The numbers aren't bragging. They're the reason your plaster lasts.
Pool plastering is a trade where experience compounds. Every shell type, every water chemistry edge case, every shortcut someone tried, we've seen it. Here's what that buys you.
Years plastering San Diego pools
We've seen every shell type, every failure mode, every shortcut. That's the difference between a 10-year plaster job and a 20-year one.

5-star reviews on Yelp & Google
Most pool plastering companies have 3-4 reviews. Ours are public, dated, and ours to defend.
Max PebbleTec lifespan we deliver
Industry average is 12-18 years. Proper prep, proper mix, and proper cure are the only difference.
Our process
From first call to first swim, 10 to 14 days.
Most San Diego pool plasterers take 3–4 weeks. We do it in 10–14 because our crews are full-time, our equipment is on the truck, and our process eliminates the waiting gaps that stretch most projects.
Free on-site assessment
Day 130–45 minutes. We measure, inspect the shell, perform a tap test for hollow spots, review water chemistry history. You get a written quote inside 24 hours, no pressure, no upsell.
Drain, sandblast, crack repair
Day 2–6We drain your pool, sandblast the existing plaster to bare gunite, repair any structural cracks, and prep the surface with bond coat. This is where most pool failures start, and where most contractors cut corners.
Plaster application
Day 7Single-day application by a master plasterer. Mix is hand-troweled wet-on-wet. We use kraft paper masking on tile and coping, then proper expansion joint sealing.
Fill, brush, and balance
Day 8–10We start filling immediately and brush twice daily during the cure window. Water chemistry is balanced on day 1 of fill and again at day 7. This step keeps plaster from etching during cure.
Walkthrough + warranty
Day 10–14Final inspection together. We hand off care instructions, a brushing schedule for the first 30 days, and our written warranty. Most jobs are swimming-ready inside 14 days.

Why our timeline beats the industry average: Most San Diego pool plasterers take 21–30 days. We do it in 10–14 because our crews are full-time (not weekend subs), and our process eliminates the wait between drain, prep, and application that stretches most projects.
